Attachment-Based Psychotherapist

Welcome to Being Human Psychotherapy:

a safe haven

a secure base

a brave space

I’m Adele O’Hare, a warm and intuitive educational and developmental psychologist with an approach grounded in attachment theory and an in-depth understanding of the emotions and needs underpinning human behaviour.

At my home-based practice in Arana Hills, Brisbane, I provide a safe and supportive space where you can expect to feel truly seen, heard and understood.

This is the starting point for the collaborative work of psychotherapy, in which together over time we develop insight into what is really going on underneath your struggles, and nurture your growth and healing.

Psychotherapy is an experiential process through which a person learns to see, with clarity and compassion, our real needs, and our longstanding protective patterns. We learn to recognise choice points in daily life and open up to possibilities that lie ahead.

When we put this learning into gradual, repeated practice outside of the therapy room, we grow the opportunity to build more secure and loving relationships and a life infused with meaning.

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land on which I live and work, the Turrbal people of Meanjin. I recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures, including their healing traditions, wisdom about the nature of being human, and understanding of social and emotional wellbeing. I pay my respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.
